Electro-Pulp Video Magazine
Courtesy of Steve the Crotchety Old Fan (link also on the right) comes the first in what I hope will be an ongoing series of analyses of pulp SF magazines. Get the full run-down from this post at his site.
This series looks to be of special relevance to this site as most of the material that Gnome Press published came from these pulp publications. Of special interest in this issue is the historical aspect about Hugo Gernsback and the roots of these magazines.

Great stuff Steve. There were a few technical and stylistic problems, but hey, it’s early days and I’m certain Steve will get those ironed out in the future. I’m really looking forward to the next one. Gets my wheels turning… maybe I should consider something like this as an addition to some of the Close Ups I do.

For more information on Hugo Gernsback check out a new biography available on Amazon.
The document was found by me when we closed down Gernsback Publications in 2003. It was an old ms that I edited and produced as a book.
Follow the link and you can go to the book and thanks to Amazon’s “look inside” feature, you can even get an idea of what it covers.

Cheers for that Larry. I notice that there is a chapter on ‘Mining on the Moon.’ Gernsback wrote a short article for the GP book (or rather, for the magazine that the book was reprinted from) called ‘Exploitation of the Moon.’ Perhaps you are aware of it. Anyway here it is:

Looks like a very interesting book on Gernsback you have put together. I hope I get the opportunity to read it sometime. Merry Xmas!!
